Schoolcraft police find suspect under insulation

SCHOOLCRAFT, Mich. - Hiding under insulation in an attic wasn’t enough to insulate a Kalamazoo man from the long arm of the law.
Officers in Schoolcraft, five miles south of downtown Kalamazoo, were searching for the 25-year-old man Tuesday at the request of court officials alleging he violated his probation.
The police department says in a statement that officers acting on a tip searched an apartment, then determined someone “had crawled into an attic space.” They used a thermal-imaging camera belonging to the South Kalamazoo County Fire Authority to find the man beneath the insulation.
The Kalamazoo Gazette says the man faces charges of resisting and obstructing an officer in addition to the probation violation.
